Infusing alcohol is so damn easy and taste way better than the flavored stuff at the store. Plus, it looks pretty and you can get creative. Everyone knows I'm a sucker for spice so infusing some silver tequila with jalapenos is a no brainer. I have a glass jug that I filled with two bottles of silver tequila. Buy a bunch of jalapenos/habaneros/serranos.... whatever you want. I wasn't really sure how much to use so I guessed. If you want less heat, de seed them before they go in the alcohol. I really wanted heat so I slit the peppers so the seeds would really affect the tequila. Infuse for at least 8-12 hours. I did for about a day and a half. You can then remove the peppers, but I like the way it looks so I keep them in. It will continue to get spicier.
Rim a glass with salt, add some ice and drink straight. Sooooooo good. Of course you can do shots of it as well. The peppers actually take away the tequila burn but add a different burn that I love;) If you want, you can also add fresh lime juice, a bit of pineapple juice, touch of grapefruit and make an awesome spicy margarita. Just keep tasting while mixing. Your guests will love it and they have no idea how deceptively simple this is.....next time, bacon infused vodka for ridiculously tasty bloody marys.
